The temple is named after the village Desa Penataran on the way to Kintamani at the Batur volcano.
A pura is a Balinese Hindu temple, and the place of worship for adherents of Balinese Hinduism.

    Gefällt mir, sieht noch recht untouristisch aus, zumindest fehlen die sonst üblichen Souvenir- und Colastände :-))

      Der Besuch in diesem Tempel war während eines Odalan Festes eigentlich nur den lokalen Einheimischen zugänglich. Nachdem ich in einem naheliegenden Laden schnell einen obligatorischen Sarong und die Stoffschleife, den Senedang, kaufte, durfte ich den Bereich betreten und das Foto schießen.
