Once a Corner Grocery Store (15)

now a little boutique - but closed for the evening ...
on Main and 10th Avenue (the street that I live on :-))

Years ago Vancouver used to have many, many grocery stores situated on street corners in all neighbourhoods - the big chain groceries and malls have pushed most of them out, others remain or are turned into different stores, cafes, galleries and living quarters .... and the nostalgia remains :-))

Immer wieder sind es neue Eindrücke, die Du aus Deiner Stadt und besonders über die Eckgeschäfte nah bringst. Mal sind sie belebt, ein anderes Mal, wie hier, erscheint die Gegend ein wenig eingeschlafen.

so nice to live in a neighborhood with good infrastructure – shopping facilities, nice broad sidewalks, yet not all too busy – , and even nicer, if this neighborhood is well-maintained and picturesque looking, like yours! love, how you captured the scenery at "the corner store" in a somewhat playful speckled light, and how washed-out blue – in the facade, in the dome, the banner, etc. – the is the prevailing color! my favorite tiny detail: the cyclist, and how the light catches on his helmet and in the spokes of his bike! hugs, sabine.

Sehr gut fotografiert und präsentiert.
In Deutschland veröden die Innenstädte, die kleinen Läden gehen pleite. Ursache: Die großen Geschäfts- und Freizeitzentren in den Stadtrandlagen.

Eine sehr idyllische Ecke - mit dem Kirchturm im HG und dem Grün und den vielen Rädern glaubt man kaum in der Stadt zu sein... Lediglich die Ampeln und all die Kabel quer über die Strasse erinnern dann doch eher an eine städische Umgebung...
