The Living Forest (346) : Hawthorn Shield Bug
The hawthorn shield bug is an insect living in forests across Europe.
It’s a big consumer of hawthorn berries, hence its name.
Like many so-called "stink bugs", it may release unpleasant odours when disturbed.
Dutch name : Meidoornkielwants
German name : Wipfel-Stachelwanze
Latin name : Acanthosoma haemorrhoidale
