The Late Afternoon Sun of New York in June

I love that very special late afternoon light New York can provide
when the sun lines up "just so" with the urban canyons.(*)

That was the case along E 26th St in Manhattan, on the northern
edge of Madison Square Park on this June afternoon in 2017.

After exploring the park (**) for the first time, I was dining with a friend at
one of the outdoor tables of a restaurant facing the park along 26th.

Fortunately, I was facing west, as the low angle of the sun added an
inviting glow to the silhouetted pedestrians,creating wonderful shadows,
while delineating the scaffolding and turning the sidewalk to gold.
