The district hospital - To sleep, gently
This is one of my favorite shots - the little boy is being anaesthetized gently on his mom's lap, watching a video on a smart phone. The white liquid in the syringe on the lower right corner does the rest. Within seconds, he will have fallen asleep. Modern medicine can also be humane.
You will also notice the sticker on his arm (a piece of tape) bearing his name and the abbreviated name + side of the planned procedure. This is an additional safety measure to avoid any confusion.
This is one of my favorite photos of the mission. It has all its imperfections, but that is the price of decency while taking these very few shots "in action".
