Starting the ripoff tour on Tonle Sap

A tour around the Tonle Sap was to become a source of capital by overcharging tourists.
Entrance fee to step into the Chong Khneas harbor nearby Siem Reap is 5 dollar each, the roundtour on the lake is 20 dollar each for two hours which means that more than one hour is spent in souvenir shops ect. ect.

When I came there first time 20 years ago bargaining with the skipper was common for 15 dollar three hours and visiting the floating villages on the lake.
Skippers are forces by local unscrupulous businessmen to ripoff tourists and bring them in the touristshops. What a shame for the image of Cambodia!
Better way is starting the tour from an other place like Khampong Pulk or Khampong Khleang where skippers are independent by the local authorities.
