Skeiðará river flows into a glacial lake

Skeiðará, one of the country's most powerful glacial rivers, comes from Skeiðarárjökull. At regular intervals, about every 4 years, glacier runs that originate in the volcanic crater Grímsvötn under the Vatnajökull, swell the river many times.
