Sheathed Cottonsedge

I found a few exceptional plants while exploring the bogland. Here’s a second one.

Sheathed Cottonsedge is a typical plant of swamps and tundra bogs.
It’s a grass species which is most conspicuous in fruit, when its single head produces silky-white cotton-like plumes.

Not really spectacular I know, but very rare in Belgium and I'm glad I found one.
Location : nature reserve ‘Hohes Venn’ (Baraque Michel - Belgium)

Dutch name : Eénarig Wollegras
German name : Scheiden-Wollgras
Latin name : Eriophorum vaginatum
