Die katholische Pfarrkirche St. Mariä Himmelfahrt ist eine ursprünglich gotische, barockisierte Wandpfeilerkirche und ist die älteste Kirche der Stadt Schongau. Sie wird in den Urkunden des Klosters Rottenbuch 1253 erstmals erwähnt.
