Lion Piefke and his wonderful Lady in the background. Piefke is a very speciel Lion, extremely beautiful... born on 21. of December 1998 he came to Duisburg Zoo on 21. of November in 1999 from zoo Arnem. His wife is one of triplets... two of them died sadly in 2011, the second at the end of 2011. The first one died of abdominal cancer, the second due to an infection after surgery. The third was operated as a precaution. She is about 17 years old. The third one, sadly without a name like all sisters, hey came from Copenhagen, but I call her Leah. I wish for them both, that they will have a good life, with much health now...
