Many Greek islands but especially these forming the Cyklades complex,owe their special beauty to the lack of green(trees, forests, foliage etc) being, according to mythology "rocks thrown by raging Zeus in Aegean Sea" and defiantly projecting their bare, rocky and volcanic soil to great extent unfavorable to support the culture for even the bare necessities for everyday life. In such islands exploiting even an inch of fertile land becomes a necessity so the locals, since the very ancient times, seem to have adopt the very handy solution of using any even portion of the rocky hills and mountain slopes constructing the so called "pezoules" to cultivate products.
