Námaskarð
belongs to the geothermal area of lake Mývatn in the north of Iceland about 8 kms north of the vulcano Krafla. Here you can find boiling mudpools and steaming fumaroles.

Island 1977:
Námaskarð
gehört zur geothermisch aktiven Zone des Mývatn (Mückensees) im Norden Islands. Das Gebiet zeichnet sich durch eine Vielzahl unterschiedlicher Thermalquellen wie Fumarolen und Solfataren aus. Etwa acht Kilometer nördlich davon befindet sich der Vulkan Krafla.
