A Manhattan-bound L Train of the New York City Subway system prepares
to depart Atlantic Avenue Station in the East New York section of Brooklyn.

The tele-compressed perspective, on a clear December afternoon, is from some blocks
away, from the platform of the L's Broadway Junction station, which is the train's next stop.

The L Train operates on the MTA's BMT Canarsie Line between Canarsie-
Rockaway Parkway in Brooklyn and 14th Street and 8th Avenue in Manhattan.
