Die Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Mailand ist eine nach Viktor Emanuel II., dem Einiger und König Italiens, benannte Einkaufsgalerie aus dem 19. Jahrhundert. Die Eröffnung durch den König fand am 15. September 1867 statt.
Architektonisch durchaus ansprechend, sind die darin beherbergten Verkaufsräume eher ein Zeichen der Oberflächlichkeit, Übertreibung und Dekadenz. Ich war mir nur unschlüssig, ob ich schreien, kotzen oder einfach nur lachen sollte. Für die Reichen und Schönen ist es allerdings die perfekte Bühne …

The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan is a 19th century shopping gallery named after Victor Emmanuel II, the unifier and king of Italy. It was opened by the king on 15 September 1867.
Architecturally quite appealing, the retail spaces it houses are rather a sign of superficiality, exaggeration and decadence. I was just undecided whether to scream, vomit or just laugh. For the rich and beautiful, however, it is the perfect stage ...
