Eye to eye

Cathedral of St. Jakov (Jacob), in Sibenik, Croatia, which was built between the 1431st and 1536th year (dedicated 1555 years) has witnessed major exchanges in the field of monumental arts between Northern Italy, Dalmatia and Tuscany 15th and 16 century. Three architects - Francesco di Giacomo, George Dalmatians and Nicholas of Florence - developed a structure built entirely of stone and, using a unique technique for the dome of the cathedral. The result is a harmony of the whole rock, methods of stacking and the absolute harmony within the cathedral.

The most important detail of the cathedral, the unique European art of the fifteenth century - the enigmatic Portrait Gallery of seventy-one human head carved on the outer edge of the apse.
