El Capitolio de Habana
El Capitolio, or the National Capitol Building in Havana, was the seat of government in Cuba until after the Cuban Revolution in 1959, and is now home to the Cuban Academy of Sciences.
The building has a size of 207 by 91 meters. Its design and name recall the United States Capitol in Washington, D.C.. and completed in 1929.
As we visited Havana the inside of the Capitol was closed for tourists due renovation work.

ja, liebe Benita, und schade, dass man innen nicht besichtigen konnte, da steht die allegorische Frauenstatue, die im Innern die Republik Kuba verkörpert. Sie wurde von dem italienischen Bildhauer Angelo Zanelli entworfen. Als Modell diente ihm Lily Válty, eine Frau aus Havanna.Benita Sittner 27/01/2015 20:13
