Early Spring on Sugarloaf Mountain

For the First Day of Spring...

The pastel greens of new growth that are beginning to adorn the trees
on Sugarloaf Mountain on this April afternoon herald the arrival of Springtime.

Sugarloaf Mountain is a small mountain and park about 10 miles south of Frederick, Maryland, USA. The closest
village is Barnesville, located just over one mile from the foot of the mountain. From the top of Sugarloaf one may
look out over the broad Monocacy Valley toward higher mountains in the distance.

The scene was shot last April on Fujichrome Velvia-50 transparency film in a Contax 139.

      Dear Gregory,
Thank you so much for your kind words. I do love how slide films like Velvia reward us for care in setting exposure. For me, it's also a welcoming "slowing down" to really savor the shooting process, as well as more satisfaction afterward in knowing one got it right.
Thanks for visiting my work, and stay safe.
      Cheers,
      Steve
