Oh yes Dirndl-Dresses. In the last couple of years the "Octoberfest" is celebrated everywhere in Germany. To be frank, I like them only, where they are at home. They look somehow wrong here in the rhine/ruhr area. I think, that only the truly traditional dresses are nice in their original places like Bavaria and Austria. Many of them are now being imported from China and they are made of synthetic fibres.
I sometimes also think, that the Dirndl represents a female image, which is outdated. Apron and frills look funny on an imancipated woman of today.
