I remember as a young lad of five or six years sliding on this slide. That dates back to sixty years ago. Like myself it's retired from use now. I will retire on 30, Aug. 2013. It is maintained but fenced iin to keep people off of it. With the numerous lawsuits awarded they have no choice but to fence it in.I think it's sad that children don't get to take chances and have to play on plastic play equipment.

wow, this is indeed a high slide - and I can imagine getting great speed going down, and I could imagine a careless kid having an accident .... sad !!! nice nostalgic feel with your colour treatment !!!
I wish you all the best for your retirement, Howard - you won't know how you ever found the time to work :-)))))
