Bilberry is a low-growing shrub that prefers wet acid soils on moorland.
Its fruits can be eaten fresh or made into jams, pies, juices or wine.

German name : Heidelbeere
Latin name : Vaccinium myrtillus

great close-up of the berries! never noticed the distinctive pattern of its surface before: there even seems to be a little "flower" – maybe even a rose – "growing" right out of its middle ; ))! beautiful light, too – it really makes the fruit and kermit-y green leaves stand out and shine! lg, sabine.
