Die Konzeption durch die Agentur Sexta Feira und Erstinstallion des "Umbrella Sky Project" war übrigens in Águeda in Portugal im Jahr 2011.

The Umbrella Sky Project began in 2011 as a part of the city of Águeda's famous annual Ágitagueda Art Festival in Portugal.

The Umbrella Sky project is an initiative of Portugese Creative Agency, Sexta Feira, which features hundreds of colourful umbrellas hung over promenades in the streets of the Agueda municipality of Portugal.
Inspired by popular fictional character Mary Poppins, the idea of the umbrella sky project was first realised in 2011, as a part of the Agitagueda art festival. The installation not only adds a vibrant splash of color to the otherwise plain streets, but also creates a much needed shade from the heat. Today, it has earned international acclaim achieving its goal of adding colour to life

Each year, during the hot summer months of July, August, and September, a handful of the city’s narrow streets gain colorful umbrella canopies that provide shade for the pedestrians passing through. Rooftop cables are strung with numerous parasols that help cool the roadways in a creative and cost-effective way, and the sea of umbrellas forms a unique geometric pattern overhead as well as changing shadows on the roadway below. Programming like outdoor workout classes give this shaded area an added layer of functionality, enabling high-energy and fitness activities despite high summer temperatures.
