A mill on the rocks

Greece Aegean Sea Karpathos(Dodekanese)
Karpathos is a biggish island belonging to the Dodekanese plexus although it's nature tends more to a Cykladian type island as it is bare, volcanic and rocky in almost it's entire surface. It has beautiful coasts though and cruising along them with a boat for swimming and fishing, is a must.
The photo is from the north part of the island which is particularly dry, rough and mountainous.

I like the way you have composed this shot, teasing us with a hint of the windmilland taking the eye along the jagged coasline to that great sky in the distance.

durable rock! wings of linen – or so it seems…

if it's the same stuff
that icarus's wings were made of,
no wonder his venture failed!

must have had a good laugh
over the innocent's (the megalomaniac's?)
pitiful attempt at invading his realm
rock is…
the stuff that labyrinths are made of!
and daedalus knew!
soaring souls…
have a propensity to fall!
down-to-earth rock…
prevails
and keeps monsters in line…

It looks ans sounds truly inhospitable...apart from that coastline. I find it amazing that someone should build a windmill here, but they did and they must have had reason. A stunning view over this vvolcanic terrain.

very impressive this massive rock formation ... its textures and details excellent - I like how the wings of the windmill balance the white cloud in the sky !!!
