yes kid is centered but in this case this one position looks good.

yeah ... the kid seems to be nice, but you could have done better on the photo ...

the kid is too centered ... you show us a lot of "not interesting background" on the sides ... try to bring the motive out of the center (a crop in photoshop might help)

second the kid has to look up to you ... bending ones knees doesn't hurt and you bring the subject on the same level like you, the camera and at last we are ... nobody really likes to be looked down to ...
too late for this shot, but you might remember the next time ... :-)
