Überflug einer Passagiermaschine während einer Wanderpause auf dem Gipfel des Mont Cimet auf 3020 m (9908 ft) Höhe.

Am 1. September 1953 zerschellte eine Constellation L749A-79-46 Paris-Saigon AF 178 am "cote de Barcelonnette" auf 2800 m Höhe. Bei diesem Absturz starben 33 Passagiere und 9 Besatzungsmitglieder.
