She stands only inches away and, yet, twenty five centuries, at least, separate these elegant remnants from the girl who tries to squeeze in the few pixels of the photo all the glorious past of the ancient Greek city of Efessos, a real gem of civilization and culture on the Ionian coast of Asia Minor.
History and Art will never be afraid of time and death..

She nearly seems to appear throuh "Copy and paste", just like a visitor from the other world. I like this excessive B&W image editing.
The title ist great, too.

what if an unexpected glob of resin suddenly dropped down on the girl, forever eternalizing her and her snazzy smartphone gadget in a giant piece of amber? what if roughly 25 centuries later our successors dug her up? what would they think?? would she make the news? she sure would! "world's biggest amber nugget found!" she might go viral on the internet, IF the internet still existed, that is! but will she be excavated at all, or just washed up (due to global warming!) on the peak of mount everest, where they will then spot her – a luminous orange chunk! – through their telescope aimed down at earth, their old home, from their new survival base on mars??? well, we can't possibly know… all we can say is, that 25 centuries from now her smartphone won't be the hottest item on earth anymore – no, sireee! dernier cri was yesterday, to say the least…

an intriguing and thought-provoking composition and image, alexander! the somewhat "uncompromising" light, the awe-inspiring shadows cast by the venerable columns, and how in her 21st-century outfit the girl looks as though cast in stone, the wrinkles of her shirt corresponding beautifully with the ancient flutes of the pillars! greetings, sabine.

A stunning shot ful,l of history , and what tales those remnants of pillars could tell... if only they could speak.
Such places are great treasures, something that will never be built in modern times... they will crumble and fall way before these ancient stones ever do.
