The Mainstream are a globally-scattered grunge/folk/hip-hop group, whose members live and create music over three separate countries and four different cities. Theirs is a band, which a few years ago, had no possibility of existing. In this shrinking world, where borders are not defined by lines on a map, but by similar visions about the world, and in their case, a hope about how music could sound; the Mainstream have emerged to create an album without all five members ever having met. The Mainstream consists of: Mason Black (Cape Town, South Africa), Joscha Blachnitzky (Luneberg, Germany), Federico Malandrino (Turin, Italy) Anton Stoeger (Hamburg, Germany) and Pablo Ryan (Luneberg, Germany). They have created all the songs on their new album, “The Beauty in the Mundane” through sharing files online, recording their parts separately over different seasons and time zones, while managing to communicate with each via cheap internet phone calls. A band, born not from similarity in race, geography or culture, but rather, from a desire to create something original, is how they view themselves and their music. They hope you will join them for a ride across their world; all it takes is to put your earphones in or your speakers on. Their new album, “The Beauty in the Mundane” consists of thirteen original songs, mastered in Los Angeles, with the world-famous Bernie Grundman Mastering Studios.
