WHY A FESTIVAL ?
To discover artist for who environment is the subject of their creative reflection.
Make the public more sensitive about the question of sustainable development thanks to artistic creation vehicles.
For several years, the offer of photographic subject about the environment topic has been recurring and increasingly important, but not that much present in art galleries. Never a general theme has been proposed on this subject.
Art is fueled by the times it has been through and its topicality. Art is actually the sensitive vision of these times as it is, most of the time, pioneer of future influences.
To gather, in the same place, diverse views about a subject which is becoming increasingly important and burning these last few years, seemed to be evident.
Thus, the International Festival of the Environmental Image (FIIE) was born from the willingness of Delphine Gamblin, curator, photographer, former artistic director of photo agencies, founder of the Black Box network and producer of the FIIE.
The FIIE is organized like a great annual event, which is enrolled in the French and International cultural landscape.
The FIIE is an event entirely produced according to the norms that environmental protection labels defined and that the WWF verified.
The business sector as well as institutions or associations always remind and inform us about the issues related to environmental stakes.
Information exists and we can find it more and more frequently and increasingly documented. However, the purpose of the FIIE is, first of all, to propose to a large public a sensitive and sensitizing view through the artistic image corner-stone.

Photographers, video and multimedia artists are invited to propose their work about the theme of environment.
Artists will be selected according to the quality of their artistic practice and the relevance of their subject.
Professional, semi-professional, French or from abroad, they will, first of all, have an artistic vision on environmental stakes, whether they are:
ecological, social, economical, urban –focused or political or,
pessimistic or optimistic or,
conceptual or realistic.
If you wish to benefit from the communication means set up for the pre-selection, your application should be transmitted as soon as possible before:
March 13, 2010 for selections
The final selection which will chose the finalists among the pre-selected applicants might be managed by a comitee composed of professionals. It will take place around March 15, 2010
Your pre-selection allows you to be integrated to the global communication of the FIIE in the media and on the FIIE’s web site. It also enables you taking part into the OFF programming if your final selection is not validated.
The Black Box network will be responsible for all editing expenses, video stuff and the video montage.
Logistics, organization and communication will also be at the expenses of the festival.
The following regulations must be read and signed. It describes and defines the steps of your participation and your involvement for the FIIE. Your application is to be sent to:
