      These Commonwealth cemeteries in northern France - designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens, and others - have become distinctive, peculiar and sombre landscapes.
      many books have been written about them.
      And photographic books - such as Silent landscape - written by Simon Doughty, photographs by James Kerr.
