... und bis hierher darf man auch auf dem Whitney trail (vom Parkplatz am "Whitney Portal") ohne permit ("Don't be stupid and think you can go beyond the lake without a permit! If you get caught by the wilderness police, i.e. Park Ranger, you'll be fined $5000 and a 6 month imprisonment!").
