      . . . but maybe it goes as it has come - just as the telegraph poles run through the picture. But as the saying goes: "Hope dies in the end!"

      I have not heard that phrase before.
      Normally - I see skies that are open, and usually blue  - and such skies are inherently optimistic.
      The sky in this picture is squeezed between thick cloud, and a dark, indeterminate landscape.
      The march of technology, of progress, is likewise subject to question and uncertainty.

      Technology is always neural.  Similar to those poles, it's gonna be the technology which bridges the darkness and delivers the illumination, ultimately.
