...zum Himmel aufsteigen
Auch hier zeige ich wieder nur einen winzigen Ausschnitt des riesigen, aus mehreren hundert Vögeln bestehenden Schwarm der Kraniche, damit noch ein paar Details zu erkennen sind. Es war ein fantastischer Anblick, sie am Himmel über dem Düsseldorfer Südpark hinweg ziehen zu sehen.

"Die Schönheit der Kraniche und ihre spektakulären Balztänze haben schon in früher Zeit die Menschen fasziniert. In der griechischen Mythologie war der Kranich Apollon, Demeter und Hermes zugeordnet. Er war ein Symbol der Wachsamkeit und Klugheit und galt als „Vogel des Glücks“. In China stand er für ein langes Leben, Weisheit, das Alter sowie die Beziehung zwischen Vater und Sohn. Auch in Japan ist der Kranich ein Symbol des Glücks und der Langlebigkeit. In der Heraldik ist der Kranich das Symbol der Vorsicht und der schlaflosen Wachsamkeit. In der Dichtung steht der Kranich symbolisch für das Erhabene in der Natur."

Again, I show only a tiny section of the huge, consisting of several hundred birds swarm of cranes, so that a few details can be seen. It was a fantastic sight to see them floating in the sky above the Duesseldorf Southpark.

"The beauty of the cranes and their spectacular courtship dances have fascinated people since time immemorial. In Greek mythology, the crane was associated with Apollo, Demeter and Hermes, a symbol of vigilance and wisdom, considered a "bird of fortune" In China, the crane is a symbol of happiness and longevity and the connection between father and son. In heraldry the crane is a symbol of caution and sleepless alertness. In poetry the crane stands symbolically for the sublime in nature."
