...oder "Der alte Seemann träut von der See"
Der Kormoran im Profil bot sich mit seinem, vom letzten Tauchgang tropfnassem, Gefieder zum klassischen Portrait an. Auch die Darstellung des Wasser im Intergrund passte sehr gut dazu. Für mich strahlt er hier etwas Mythisches aus.

"Der Name „Kormoran“ stammt aus dem Lateinischen „Corvus marinus“, was „Meerrabe“ bedeutet. Kelten erklärten die Bewegung der Sonne damit, dass ein Kormoran sie auf ihrer Bahn zog. In den norwegischen Sagen heißt es, dass die Kormorane oft Warnungen oder Zeichen aus der Anderwelt bringen. Als fast 100%ige Fischfresser sind Kormorane ans Wasser gebunden, sei es nun Meer, Fluss oder See. Es wurden Tauchgänge von bis zu 16 Metern nachgewiesen. Ukai wird die Kormoranfischerei in Japan genannt: die Fischer gehen mit zahmen Kormoranen auf Fischfang. Der Kormoran war 2010 Vogel des Jahres in Deutschland und Österreich."

The Cormorant in profile offered his classic portrait with his plumage, dripping wet from the last dive. Also the representation of the water in the background fit very well. For me he radiates something mythical here.

"The name" Cormorant comes from the Latin "Corvus marinus", which means sea raven. Celts explained the movement of the sun to a cormorant pulling it on its orbit, as the Norwegian thought that cormorants often say warnings or signs from the otherworld. As nearly 100% fish-eaters, cormorants are bound to the water, be it sea, river or lake, and dives of up to 16 meters have been detected. Ukai is called the cormorant fishery in Japan: the fishermen go with tame cormorants on fish. In 2010 the cormorant was bird of the year in Germany and Austria."
