534 v. Chr. hat an dieser Stelle Siddhartha Gaudama unter dem Baum Mahabodhi die Erleuchtung erlangt. Im Buddhismus ist der hier errichtete Tempel - der Diamantene Thron - das höchste Heiligtum. Mir kam es darauf an, die Mystik dieses Ortes zu vermitteln.
