The Fungi world (16) : Red banded polypore
This typical horseshoe shaped fungus can be found all year long. Not poisonous but inedible due to its woody texture.
Dutch name : Roodgerande houtzwam
German name : Fichtenporling (ebenso bekannt als Rotrandiger Baumschwamm)
Latin name : Fomitopsis pinicola

Wow...it is huge!!Really looks very hard to bite, nearly like an extension of the tree. Perhaps a kind of mimicry.
