  It's a view of the sea ; or, at least, of people enjoying the sea.
  The people were enjoying the trip. The ferry between newcastle and amsterdam is usually a happy experience.

at the first glance just a "nice picture"...at the 2nd glance a very good composition surrounding a narrative content. A view from the back of a ship showing some couples looking back - perhaps leaving for home -, the nearest couple is making a selfie trying to capture a memory for later, a single person sits on the stairs a bit down...It seems that this composition is by coincidence, but at the end it couldn't be better! regards Bert

  Thankyou. There were enough figures in front of me. At times there were too many ; and at other times there were too few. It's one of my own favourite pictures. I enjoy those ferry journeys - and the picture says something of my state of mind at the time - contentment/happiness - experiencing a journey without any stress. . All pictures are "selfies" to some degree. Mark.
