You have a great eye for spotting the unusual in nature. Keep working on the technicals till they are second nature to you, DOF, exposure, lighting, etc.– so that eye of yours can be free to allow the visions to dance through you. Remember that center placement is oh-so-predictable- for example, this image would improve greatly by cropping out the white glow on the left that is enhancing the noise through the thinness of the exposure there. That would also place the subject to the left of the frame pointing into the image and leading the viewer's eye along with it. You've great potential with that eye of yours.
