Antique stone bas-relief
The coat of arms of the Visconti family, Lords of Milan, on an old house in a small village lost in the clouds in Liguria.
Honesly, the original coat of arms was a snake with a child in its jaws, because legend says that while Bonifacio Visconti, lord of Pavia, was fighting the Saracens, his son was kidnapped and swallowed by a huge snake. At the end of the war Bonifacio killed the snake and found his son miraculously still alive inside the snake.
How is it possible that this stone bas-relief is here?
