Island of Simi. A tiny spot in South Aegean sea, hardly seen on the map but loaded with history.The Simians, rich sea merchants in the past, trading with almost all Mediterranean ports, participated actively in the Greek liberation war(1821-1828) against the Ottomans offering ships and money. Their beautiful neoclassic houses continue to attract admiration nowadays and the picture is only a small part of them.A strong headache,though, for their descendants to maintain them...
