The Albatross Monument
a short distance from the main station on Hoorn Island is a memorial, including a large sculpture made by Chilean sculptor José Balcells featuring the silhouette of an albatross, in remembrance of the sailors who died while attempting to "round the Horn" .... in strong winds up to 57 miles p.h. this was the best shot I could get - March 30 of this year ...
